The old way of breaking for lunch in RTP may have looked something like this: 12 o’clock hits and you need to make a mad dash to the nearest fast food joint only to then turn right around and eat at your desk alone or in the office breakroom. Let’s change that.

As we head back to work, whatever that may look like, let’s rethink how we use our lunch hour. Every Thursday from 12pm to 2pm Boxyard RTP will have a live acoustic singer-songwriter on the BeatBox stage. The artist(s) and genre will change each week, but the intent will stay the same. Try ordering some food ahead of time, enjoying the fresh air, and giving yourself the time (and permission) to recharge during this well-deserved break in the day.

Our musical performances happen rain or shine under our covered Pavilion on the BeatBox stage. In the event of extreme weather, such as flooding, ice or lightning, performances will be canceled. Follow us on Instagram for updates on time changes or cancelations.

This Week’s Performer: Emanuel Wynter

Emanuel Wynter is a violinist/singer/songwriter residing in North Carolina. His musical journey started at the age of 6 when he was signed up for violin classes in the first grade. 17 years later, Emanuel’s dedication to music, as well as his time as a professional violinist, has exposed him to musical styles ranging from classic rock to jazz. Emanuel’s influences are all ingredients at the table, combining flavors to create music is a partnership of the contemporary sounds of neo-soul, funk, and r&b with the sounds of a traditional instrument, the violin. His sweet and soulful displays are a unique spectacle that you don’t want to miss. You’re not gonna want to miss his BeatBox Stage debut at Boxyard RTP!
