“Watson is a poet, storyteller, and prodigal philosopher. Weaving intricate narratives with raw emotional energy, Watson delivers spoken word like a fiery prophet of old. His theatrical performance style is captivating to both those familiar with spoken word and those introduced to it for the first time. He’s currently writing a book of poetry entitled ‘Peace, Son of War’ that he aims to publish in 2022. Until then, we wait for his debut at the SOAPBOX”
Imony Lowd (I-moni- loud)
Raleigh born and bred, Imani “Imony Lowd” Horton is an INSPIRATIONAL FORCE! This Artist has truly been gifted with wordplay and depth. Her poetry is intertwined with her passion for music and BOY CAN SHE SING! Her Artistry has granted her access to poetic giants like PIA (Poets in Autumn) – a Christian based traveling AND SOLIDIFIED poetry group- and to grace major stages like “The Legacy” Chicago annnnnd ATLANTA. She’s certified and ready to share her uplifting poetry at the SOAPBOX. In the meantime catch her every Tuesday on social media spitting a truth for all of her fans and followers.
Nick Courmon
Nick Courmon is a native of Greensboro, NC and has been featured in the Los Angeles Times and VICE News. Nick has been a featured performer at the National Black Theatre Festival, the NC African American Cultural Celebration and has used his art to collaborate with Beats by Dre. But his highest honor is being his mother’s son. Eager but ready is Nick for a closer look at HIS IMPACT at the SOAPBOX
Krystal Argentin
Krystal “DaMuse” Argentin is a host, producer, correspondent and business consultant! Mostly referred to as a Renaissance woman and a true advocate for “THE CULTURE”, she’s a bonified tastemaker. You may have experienced her one of a kind hosting energy most recently in her self produced Apollo styled competition The Spotlight or her co-curated NC Taco Tuesday Jam Session; SHES EVERYWHERE. Her passion and love for Poetry and art has landed her the leading role in the Longest standing poetry based open mic in NC- City Soul Cafe! SHES TRULY THE SOUL OF THE CITY and will be anchoring the night at the SOAPBOX as the host. Krystal has a flair for being just what the moment needs in any setting at all times so get ready because HERE SHE COMES!

SoapBox is a recurring event at Boxyard RTP that features different art forms. Watch along as performers from the realms of comedy, spoken word, storytelling and beyond get up on their SoapBox.

– Boxyard RTP is an open-air facility that will be following in accordance with all Covid-19 regulations put in place by Durham County.
– In addition to regular cleanings, complimentary hand sanitizer and wipe stations are provided throughout our facility.
– The performers will be positioned a safe distance away from the general public on the BeatBox stage.
