Poets and poetry lovers meet in-person, quenching our thirst for connection, with a welcome reading by the Third Angle Poets.

Ready to transcend writerly solitude and connect with like-hearted poets and poetry lovers? Join us for a roaming poetry exchange designed to weave our community together one verse at a time.

While the social kicks off at 7:00 PM, come as early as 5:00 PM to get on the open mic list to share poetry on Boxyard’s BeatBox Stage at LOJO, accompanied by neighborhood jam bands.

What to expect: In addition to the customary comforts of an opening reception, the heart of the evening is our Poetry in Motion icebreaker—a living chain of “haiku hand-offs” where short, soulful poems travel through the crowd.

Whether you’re gifting a poem to a stranger or asking, “Do you have a verse for me?”, this is your chance to circulate, connect, and ensure everyone leaves with a new story to tell. Plus, we’ll end the night with a special welcome reading by the Third Angle Poets.

Poets Meet & Greet kicks off a weekend of experiences at Triangle Poetry Festival, celebrating the artists, the heart-leading advocates, and the movers in the margins. Check out the rest of the schedule.
