Today’s Musicians: Stray Local
Stray Local is the husband-and-wife songwriting duo of Hannah and Jamie Rowen, based in Raleigh, North Carolina. The pair performs a bouquet of indie sounds punctuated by rich vocal harmonies, catchy guitar riffs, and well-crafted melodies all woven together by their folk beginnings and new pop sensibilities. While Jamie handles all things strings, Hannah bounces between child size instruments like her mini keyboard, glockenspiel, drum pad and various percussive instruments often playing multiple at one time. Stray Local not only packs a full band punch with a dynamic sound, they are just plain fun to watch!
Hannah and Jamie love combining their passions for music and running in unique tours, exploring national parks, or running cityscapes, and performing for run clubs, races, and running festivals. Stray Local has performed internationally at festivals in France, England, and Wales. They have released several albums and dropped 4 singles in 2021 including their most recent , “Wrecked”. They are currently in their 3rd year as members of the Run Happy Team sponsored by Brooks Running.
Covid Precautions
– Boxyard RTP is an open-air facility that will be following all Covid-19 regulations put in place by Durham County.
– In addition to regular cleanings, complimentary hand sanitizer stations are provided throughout our facility.
– The performers will be positioned at a safe distance away from the general public on the BeatBox stage.
– If you are feeling the beats and have the urge to dance, please do so at your table with the group you came with.
