We got you at LINE BREAK, a word-dance cypher where you’ll have the chance to read your favorite lines (original or covers) as the acclaimed Raleigh Rockers crew puts your poetry in motion through dance. You might even feel inspired to break out moves of your own (we won’t judge).
What’s a cypher? In Hip-Hop culture, it’s the creative spark at the center of a community gathering, with roots in tribal traditions that brought together storytellers around a dancing fire. Join us at Triangle Poetry Fest as we bring poets and dancers together to spark movement. Curated and MC’d by Antino Art.
About the Crew:
Raleigh Rockers was founded in 2007 as the official breaking club at NC State University. From the start, the group hosted open practices for the Raleigh community, creating a welcoming space where anyone could learn, train, and grow through dance.
By 2010, members began competing under the name Raleigh Rockers. As connections expanded beyond campus, the club naturally evolved into a dedicated crew and dance family – what is now recognized as the Raleigh Rockers B-Boy Crew.
Today, the Rockers travel to compete, perform, teach workshops, host events, and support community outreach. Their mission is to inspire positive movement through the art of breaking, uplifting culture and community one step at a time.
