Live from Research Triangle Park, it’s Friday Night Live!

Good vibes. Good people. Good food. Good drinks. The cherry on top? Good music. In Boxyard-fashion, we aren’t boxing ourselves in with one genre. Every Friday, our container stage opens to showcase collective sounds from musicians across our region, in whatever form or fashion.

Looking for LOJO? Don’t worry! You can still jam out with us every first and third Friday of the month.

Today’s Performers: Omar Ruiz-Lopez

Omar Ruiz-Lopez (he/him) is a distinguished musician and educator currently based in Durham, NC, with a remarkable command over multiple instruments, including violin, viola, guitar, and mandolin. His roots lie in North Carolina, having been a part of the burgeoning Triangle music scene for 13 years until his move to Nashville in 2023 and back in 2025. Born in Panama and raised in Puerto Rico, Omar’s early exposure to traditional Caribbean folk songs, courtesy of his father, laid the foundation for his deep appreciation for music. Spanish is his first language, and it remains an integral part of his cultural identity.

Our musical performances happen under our covered Pavilion on the BeatBox stage–weather response subject to safety conditions onstage. In the event of extreme weather, such as flooding, ice or lightning, performances will be canceled. Follow us on Instagram for updates on time changes or cancelations.
