Designer Game Night: Chris Faulkenberry

Did you know the Triangle is home to some amazing board game designers? Join us on the 4th Wednesday of every month to meet a game designer and help them test their new game. Other board games will be out for regular play.

Tonight’s Featured Designer: Chris Faulkenberry

Chris has been designing games for as long as he can remember. In 2013, he founded Stone Circle Games with a group of friends, and Battle for Biternia was born. Over years of design and testing, they refined the game before publishing it through Kickstarter in 2019. Chris has also worked with Smart Game Systems, creating games for businesses and non-profit organizations. When he’s not gaming, he enjoys playing the violin (or fiddle, depending) and painting miniatures.

Tonight’s Featured Game: Battle for Biternia

Battle for Biternia combines the aesthetic of classic role-playing video games with the gameplay of the wildly popular Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) genre. Take control of a team of four heroes and do battle with your opponent. Take down their defensive towers and destroy their Elemental Crystal to win! Each of the 19 Heroes is different, with unique powers that they can gain over the course of the game. Each turn, you will play cards in secret to determine what each of your heroes will do. If you can anticipate your opponent’s moves and play the right cards, you will come out on top. Look for Pixelvania, the new expansion to Battle for Biternia, in production now!
