Curious to learn more about the trails around RTP and surrounding counties? Looking for ways to incorporate exercise to your daily routine? Want to have a positive impact on the environment? National Bike to Work Day takes place in May, right in the middle of National Bike Month. The observance encourages us to bike to work, but it also raises awareness of cyclists as they commute to and from work each day.

Join us as we bike from Downtown Durham to Boxyard RTP using a variety of trail systems along the way. The ride is about 8.5 miles mostly on greenway (one section is on-street unprotected bike lane). This is a beginner-friendly, no-drop ride. We’ll depart from the Bull at 8am and arrive by 9am to Boxyard RTP. Coffee and snacks will be provided by RTP Foundation at Boxyard.

Start Time: 8:00 a.m. (Please arrive early!)
Start Location: Major the Bull in Downtown Durham

Estimated End Time: 9:00 a.m.
End Location: Boxyard RTP

Covid Precautions:

– Boxyard RTP is an open-air facility that will continue to follow in accordance with all Covid-19 regulations put in place by Durham County. Masks are optional at Boxyard, but individual vendor policies may vary. We recommend bringing a mask with you. Stay kind to those who choose to still wear one.
– In addition to regular cleanings, hand sanitizer stations are provided throughout our facility.
– Our tables are spaced out, so you do not feel right on top of your neighbor.
