99 POETS READ TOGETHER: A community performance

It’s like that Monks Walk for Peace, but not quiet. DO NOT POST to social media about this — we’re bringing back word of mouth and direct connection.

At 6:30PM on Saturday, March 21 at Boxyard RTP, 99 poets will walk through the parking lot and read together all at once in a real-life social media grid formation at Triangle Poetry Festival.

Part performance exhibition, part social experiment, the idea is to cut through the noise of our doom-scroll age with messages of hope, healing, and movement.

How It Works (The Rules)

1. No social media about this. Posts, stories, nothing. Invite word of mouth, share the signup page via text, email, DM and copy machine flier.

2. After you sign up, invite 3 other people. Include at least one to read, and one to watch. The other, fill in the blank.

3. Bring 3-5 poems to read aloud for 20 minutes straight, repeating if necessary. Keep this a nourishing space — NO HATE SPEECH, INFLAMMATORY/OBSCENE/INSULTING CONTENT ALLOWED.
