SUMMARY:Saturdaze: DJ Proto J
DESCRIPTION:Join us on Saturdays to enjoy some brunch with live music at Boxyard RTP! Let loose, grab some food and drinks from our vendors and enjoy SATURDAZE, a mix of eclectic and electric vibes to help you get into that weekend groove.\nOur musical performances happen rain or shine under our covered Pavilion on the BeatBox stage. In the event of extreme weather, such as flooding, ice or lightning, performances will be canceled. Follow us on Instagram for updates on time changes or cancelations.\nToday’s Performer: DJ Proto J ( https://www.flow.page/djprotoj )\nJoseph Sky, an American Indian of the Tuscarora Tribe of North Carolina, began DJing in 1996 and became formally known as DJ Proto J. As one of the very first vinyl Turntablists in North Carolina, he won “Da Skillz,” a highly accredited DJ battle, defeating over 20 top DJs on the East Coast in 2000. That same year, he formed The Architechs, a Turntablist DJ band with Carolina legend DJ Merlin, 3-Eyes, and D-Tox, one of the first of its kind.\nFollow their social on Instagram ( https://www.instagram.com/djprotoj/ ) and Facebook ( https://www.facebook.com/DJProtoJ/ ).\nOur musical performances happen under our covered Pavilion on the BeatBox stage–weather response subject to safety conditions onstage. In the event of extreme weather, such as flooding, ice or lightning, performances will be canceled. Follow us on Instagram for updates on time changes or cancellations.\nNote: By participating in this event, you consent to the recording of your likeness, image, and/or voice and authorize Boxyard RTP to use photographs, video, and audio recordings containing your likeness, image, and/or voice in any medium for any purpose.\nGot questions? Send us an email at hello@boxyardrtp.com. Interested in performing? Fill out our Music Application Form ( https://boxyard.rtp.org/music-application-form/ ).\n\n
