SUMMARY:Friday Night Live: MacKenzie McGuire
DESCRIPTION:Live from Research Triangle Park, it’s Friday Night Live!\nGood vibes. Good people. Good food. Good drinks. The cherry on top? Good music. In Boxyard-fashion, we aren’t boxing ourselves in with one genre. Every Friday, our container stage opens to showcase collective sounds from musicians across our region, in whatever form or fashion.\nLooking for LOJO? Don’t worry! You can still jam out with us every first and third Friday of the month.\nToday’s Performers: MacKenzie McGuire\nMacKenzie McGuire is a vocalist originally from the Chicago Land area. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Vocal Jazz Performance from East Carolina University and earned her Masters degree in Jazz Studies at Howard University. At Howard, she served as the Teaching Assistant for the Jazz Department, which included the renowned vocal jazz ensemble—Afro Blue—as well as the head director for the Howard University Jazz Singers. She is the lead vocalist for the funk fusion band, Fatmouth, as well as the lead singer with various different ensembles. Outside of performing, MacKenzie teaches and tutors students across North Carolina and the D.C. area, as well as composes her own original songs across genres, continuously sharing her passion for music through both performance and education.\nFollow her social on Instagram. ( https://www.instagram.com/macmcguiremusic/ )\nOur musical performances happen under our covered Pavilion on the BeatBox stage–weather response subject to safety conditions onstage. In the event of extreme weather, such as flooding, ice or lightning, performances will be canceled. Follow us on Instagram for updates on time changes or cancellations.\nNote: By participating in this event, you consent to the recording of your likeness, image, and/or voice and authorize Boxyard RTP to use photographs, video, and audio recordings containing your likeness, image, and/or voice in any medium for any purpose.\nGot questions?
